We had an excellent stay at The Portland. Gabriela could not have been more helpful in advance with clear instructions and sorting a parking permit for £5 for 24 hours. The safe parking was around the posh Clarence Square not too far away. There were other places in Zone 10 too. Gabriela allowed us early access to our wonderful room (No 6) because we had a memorial service to attend and wanted to sort things before we set forth. The simple breakfast was fine with orange juice, fruit, cereals, toast and crumpets all available this morning. I would suggest slightly better coffee than plain Nescafe in the room and at breakfast; maybe a Gold version but that's my only proposed improvement. We will certainly use the Portland next time we stay in Cheltenham.

Conveniently located for the town centre and the parking permit was helpful to enable on street parking within 10 minute walk to the guesthouse. The bedroom was basic and not modernised, the bed was comfy and we appreciated the tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast is included but is a very light breakfast. Notice on the wall stated ‘cooked breakfast when available’ which we didn’t understand. Guests helped themselves at breakfast to toast, crumpets, cereal and apples. Not enough choice for us personally. Information pre check in was clear and helpful.

Love the Portland Guest House, fantastic location for wide choice of restaurants in the town. The place is always spotless and the staff are so friendly. Entry is now via key box system and breakfast has moved over to Continental only. This still offers a good choice of food and drinks. Defo recommend the place.

Lovely pet friendly place. Tastefully decorated rooms that were spotlessly clean and tidy. The self check in was convenient and worked well. Rooms quite cold at times and vegan options weren't provided at breakfast on at least one of the days, despite me advising the property of my requirements twice in advance of arrival. Would certainly stay again.
