"Parking about 5 mins walk away lots of building but look beyond that. Modern, clean and friendly. Quality breakfast, great rooms, little noise and close to the centre (5 mins) Great base for exploring the city. Would happily stay again"

"This property was lovely. Located within a short walk from the train station as well as from the city centre. The staff were incredible, and very friendly. The man working the front desk (I did not catch his name, but he was there the morning of April 1st) was lovely to chat with and very helpful! The room was small but had everything we needed, was very clean. The bed was also very comfortable. The only thing I would not recommend is the continental breakfast. You don’t get much for £10.95, it’s really just toast, some coffee and some yogurt (which was unpleasantly tart). "

"Hotel design is modern, clean and central to York´s attractions. I stayed for 4 nights, the standard rooms are well equipped, great design, and comfortable. It would´ve been nice to have an alternative to coconut biscuits, a variety of teas and a hot chocolate provided. The housekeeping was different standard everyday, one day the bed wasn’t made or the tea cups cleaned, other days it was very good. I ordered a different cooked breakfast every morning, and honestly wouldn’t want any of them twice. The smoked salmon and ´creamy´ scrambled eggs was a wafer thin slice of salmon with very watery eggs, the Eggs California had puréed grey avocado on a soggy muffin, the soft boiled eggs and soldiers were ok, and on the final day I ordered porridge with berries and honey…the porridge arrived minus the berries and had to ask for them again. When they came it was just 4 raspberries in a pot, and by that time the porridge was cold. The breakfast staff were inconsistent in service. Nearer 10am the staff are clearing tables very loudly and banging and crashing plates and cutlery on the trollies. On one day, a member of staff hovered near our table, wished us a friendly ´have a nice day´ when we got up to leave but then pounced to clear away our table. Service finishes at 10am but that doesn't mean hotel guests have to leave promptly at that time. Sadly the spa was closed for refurbishment so it wasn’t possible to take advantage of the hotel´s usual amenities. "

"Excellent stay from start to finish. Easy and smooth check in with good communication beforehand regarding my specific needs due to disability. Room was super, well laid out and spacious. Bathroom was modern and designed for disabled use. We ate in the on site restaurant 2 nights out of 3 during our stay. Food was really exceptional given it’s a chain hotel. The seabass I had the first evening was really flavourful and the couscous and roasted veg with it was the perfect combination to go with it. I had the crab ravioli the second evening and that was just amazing. Breakfast was buffet style with a wide range of pastries, bread, cereals, fresh fruits and juice in addition to everything you could possibly want in the hot selections. I used the spa facilities both days enjoying a pedicure and a body massage. The massage left me floating and I would highly recommend them. My only gripe would be the treatment rooms are very small and really doesn’t give you much room for manoeuvre! Don’t let that detract you from the treatments on offer though and the therapists are extremely friendly and good at what they do. All in all I have no hesitation in recommending a stay here and we will certainly return, hopefully sooner rather than later. Thank you again for a wonderful stay. "
