"This hotel is an old mansion and luxury boutique hotel. It is well kept and would be a great venue for a wedding.
As an older hotel, it has shared spaces like sitting areas, bathrooms, game rooms, etc. It has old heaters in many rooms and a claw foot bathtub in the upstairs bathroom.
It is in a safe neighborhood and very convenient to downtown Couer d'Alene.
We were on the 3rd floor and had to climb up some narrow staircases to our room. The floors were a bit creaky, as you would expect in a historic building. It was definitely an experience you won't get with the corporate hotels. The hosts were friendly and made breakfast. The Blackwell was a unique experience!
