โLove this cute little motel. Iโve stayed here 6 or 7 different times while my son was a student at SDSU. The Lamplighter Inn is consistently immaculate- honestly, the grounds and buildings are so well-maintained. The breakfast is basic but good, the laundry facilities, water dispenser,& vending machines are available 24/7 in a secure room next to the lovely, shaded pool area. Parking is plentiful and free. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance โ
โFront desk agent was very friendly and welcoming. Room was very clean. Being right off the freeway, I was not expecting much, I was pleasantly surprised.โ
โStaff was absolutely amazing. Room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, quite large. Basic amenities in room included refrigerator! Plenty of free parking. Restaurants abound in area. โ
โSo inside the gates the resort felt safe it was clean and child friendly. Staff were great and josh was amazing giving us an upgrade and an extra night. Jeff was amazing as well. I would definitely visit the good life resort again.the only down fall i saw was the resort wasnt in the best part of town.โ
โOK, this is the sort of place you wither love or hate.
It is a little quirky to say the least, it was built in the 1930's, and is a beautiful property out in East County, but easy commute into San Diego.
Check in was easy, call the number posted, you are greeted by friendly staff, and a complimentary glass of wine.
The hallways and bedrooms are dark paneling, so I could see that would not be everyone's taste. Look at the room photos. folks.

โRoom was not as big as In the photo. Booked what I thought was 400sqft but it definitely l, Maybe more like 250sqft. Otherwise rooom was clean, modern, bed very comfortable, quiet. Kitchenette was very nice. Staff was great, the service was amazing. No housekeeping though, no pool, and no restaurant on the premises. Close to many restaurant. โ
