"I booked a room for 2 nights through expedia. Upon checking in, I saw a sign on the front desk that the steam was closed. During the check-in process, the check-in clerk handed me a tablet, asked me to sign and informed that I had to pay an additional 'Resort Fee'.
I explained that I was not happy with this additional fee and that it should be included in the price. Again, I expressed that I was not happy and wanted the bogus nickel and dime charge removed. The check-in clerk stated that he would contact his manager to see if anything could be done and again asked me to sign the tablet. I read through what he was asking me to sign and one section stated that I agreed to pay all charges/fees. I pointed this out to the clerk and he said 'Don't worry about, you have my word I will speak to my manager'. I asked to speak to the manager there and then but when clerk telephoned the manager, there was no answer.
The clerk then demanded I sign the tablet. I again, pointed out that I was not in agreement and the clerk said, 'I promise the manager will call you'. I stood my ground and explained that his words were just that, whereas he was expecting me to sign a contractual agreement that I did not agree with. The clerk then abruptly said to me 'If you don't sign, you can't stay here'. WOW......talk about trying to intimidate and bully me.
Because I had my son with me, I explained to clerk that
any 'resort' facilities and I definitely would not call the call the hotel a resort."
