Amazing family run hotel with real character. We were looked after exceptionally well by very personable staff. The hotel has a great atmosphere and incredible views over the river and hills from the rooms and dining area. Highly recommended.
Lovely views rooms are beautiful. Everyone very friendly and helpful...plus added bonus of finding a lovely friendly dog on my balcony..she was a beauty.
Would definitely stay again.
Thank you
The view is exceptional. The staff friendly and very helpful. The room very comfortable The menu looked very good but unfortunately we had a prior meeting agreed so didn’t have an evening meal but the breakfast was superb and we would definitely eat there again. Would recommend.
It is set in such a beautiful area with outstanding views.
Under new management and I would say there is alot of work to be done to be at a standard for people to stay. We arrived to be told that I hadn't booked and that they do not use expedia so e-mail proof shown. Then told it was more money, then told I had to pay cash. I left and stayed at another local establishment. Not ideal but a break is a break.

Excellent price inc breakfast. Beautiful views
I'd describe this property as a pub that gradually grew into a motel. On the A40 between Abergavenny and Crickhowell. Slightly disappointing room, but had a lovely balcony with beautiful views behind. You will struggle to find views elsewhere. Multitude of random framed pictures everywhere. Gives the place a certain character. Cooked breakfast was fine, but took a bit long to arrive. This was due to only one member of staff in the morning. Nice chap, did his best.
No-one around in the evening, so provided you've booked in already and have found the relevent door, you may need to use the provided door code to get in.
I typically don't like pub stays, but this place seemed different. I read the reviews both good and bad. I Ignored the bad and they weren't relevant to my stay.
Good Comms and they quickly swapped a double for a twin at time of booking. Faults on the hotels.com listing.
Was in a handy location, best price in the area, best views, including breakfast. Would I stay there again? Yes, provided the rate was competitive. I've stayed in a few places nearby and was happy with my choice. Shame I can't add pics, but the pitiful hotel.com app won't let me
Stunning views from balcony over the Usk towards the beacons opposite. Very handy for Abergavenny. Under new management so it will be 5* across the board in due course I'd imagine. Free cooked breakast too.

Nice location, couldn’t check in to begin with as no one answered phones or on the property check in times need to be adjusted for this but did like we could check in earlier if we actually could

Got didn't get to stay as it was double booked and had to try and find somewhere else to stay and it was late at night
I booked my 1 night stay nearly 2 weeks in advance, had email confirmation from Expedia but when I arrived Llanwenarth Hotel knew nothing about my visit. The staff and owner were very helpful and had to bend over backwards to assist
Expedia this is not good enough, and Llanwenarth Hotel advised this has happened on multiple occasions and in the past have had to turn people away.
After booking through hotel.com and paying in advance we arrived late at night and exhausted from a long flight to be told they don’t work with hotels.com and didn’t have a booking for us. The only way to get a room to sleep in was to pay again. We left the next morning. Would not recommend at all. The room smelt musty, the bed is very uncomfortable. The place is in serious need of a good tidy up.

Expedia took payment but hotel had no record of it, we had to prove that we had paid you, we had a family in the room above that the kids jumped up & down until late, the WiFi did not work in the bedrooms, we couldn’t bath & shower as had no cold water - the plus side poor Anthony tried his best to accommodate us as our tv did not work either, so he exchanged it for us
When 3 friends and I arrived at 6.15pm the hotel door was locked. We found staff in the garden and were told that Expedia had double booked our 2 rooms, and that there were no others available. It was a Saturday evening on a Bank Holiday weekend, and the start of the half term week, so we were unable to find alternative accommodation. Neither the hotel nor Expedial had tried to contact me to tell me about the situation. In the end we had to drive back home. So unable to comment on cleanliness etc as we never got in.
