"Very nice hotel. Our room was downstairs under the reception with a very comfortable king bed and a lovely furniture. Nice bathroom with a very good shower but the sink drain pipe was leaking into a drawer underneath which was being damaged by the leak and the floor became very wet. The breakfast was very delicious. We chose an omelet with smoked salmon from the menu and there was also a buffet with a delicious Yorkshire ham, cheeses, salads, fruit, pastry and cereals so plenty of food to choose from. Very close to City Walls and Bootham Bar."

"Be mindful when booking one of the annex rooms. They are really not very nice and miles from the main hotel with failing lifts and narrow stairways. The night staff were helpful but the room and awful outlook wasn’t something they could resolve. Not helped by an extremely loud party and mention of same again the following night. I absolutely wouldn’t book again."

"I stayed at Hocus Pocus Tiny Hotel in York during a work trip, mainly because it was the cheapest option available at the time. The hotel is incredibly well themed and has clearly had a lot of thought put into the design. Everything was very clean, the linen was fresh, the pillows were lovely, and the bed itself was fairly comfortable. However, the main issue is the noise. Because it is right in the centre of York, I was woken up several times during the night by people walking past after drinking in the city. The bed was also very creaky, which added to the noise. For that reason, I probably would not recommend it for light sleepers or anyone needing a really restful night before work. That said, if you are looking for somewhere quirky, fun and memorable for the novelty factor, it is a great place to stay. It is clean, comfortable and brilliantly themed, but you do need to be prepared for the possibility of a noisy night."

"We have visited York on numerous occasions over the years and this is by far the best hotel we have stayed in. The central location meant that it was only a short walk to the main attractions. The staff were helpful and courteous with check in and out being swift and easy. The choice and quality of food at breakfast was excellent. The rooms were modern, fresh and clean with all the amenities you would expect. The bathroom was light and airy with a powerful shower which was easy to use. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel ."
