Hotel was clean and comfortable. My room was fairly close to the bar and the music was very loud, so I struggled to get to sleep hence reducing the score a little. Staff were very pleasant.

Very slight issue - with bottom of 1 shower not being fully cleaned and scuff marks on the wall in the 2nd room but everything else was great. Close for the station to get into Edinburgh. Would stay again

Had meal in evening food was freshly cooked and home made . Had the pasta and it was delicious we also had breakfast freshly prepared to order quality products and breakfast staff were fantastic as was all the other staff. So helpful with directions and bus times . Big thank you to them all .

Stayed at n one of the ground floor rooms and although bedroom was comfortable with super comfortable beds and a desk and chair, the bathroom was somewhat dated. Clearly set up as a disabled room and the washbasin far too low for able bodied person. Shower cubicle was small with a black shower curtain, also very dated. Rest of hotel was fine and food very good value for money.

Solo traveler! After reading the reviews, I found they were completely accurate. The staff—especially Julie and Ashley—were fantastic, as was the rest of the team! However, the hotel itself is quite outdated given the nightly rate. The room heater wasn't functional, the heated towel rack was unreliable, and no hairdryer was provided. While the bed was on the firmer side—which I personally prefer—it was a very lumpy. Please note that breakfast is not served on-site, as the café does not open until 12:00 PM. That said, the café food was reasonably good for the price. The hotel's location is outside the busy area of Edinburgh, but close short walk to the train station. Additionally, while the bar closes at 11:00 PM, it offered a lively, fun atmosphere with very welcoming locals. There is a grocery store, coffee shop, co-op, and few other take-aways within a few minutes walk. There are no microwaves in the room or hotel. The is a bunch of parking. Would I stay again? No, but only because it’s a bit over priced for the area and amenities.

This is the type of hotel you’d need for getting your head down, nothing more. Very run down hotel and needs a complete upgrade. I’d say it was a 2*, double bed in room however only one chair, wooded floors in bedroom above and every step or creak heard, no room service during our four day stay except to asking if any essentials needed. There are plenty of hotels around with little extra money. The staff were very helpful and there is ample car parking.

Stayed for a few nights here and was meant to be a superior room, basically this just meant a bigger bathroom with wheelchair access. Sink was tiny and had a deep mirror rite above it so couldn't wash your face or have a wet shave without hitting head off the mirror. Was frustrating all coffees etc were kept in mugs, so if wanted hot drink had to empty all the contents out and only wooden sticks no spoons. Bar was great and staff good. However noise from bar was quite loud in rooms, especially pool table which was always used. Sadly not worth the price paid.

Small lodge hotel, the room I had was a 2 star in comparison to other hotels I stay at. Very loud up till 11pm with the pool table being right next to the room in the bar. The food in the restaurant in the evenings was really good. Breakfast was average. The staff were friendly and helpful.
