"The hotel location is in the midst of lots of action. So if you're a light sleeper, it may be too loud for you. The bed was comfy, but I kept slippers while I was in the room. The hallways were dark and dreary. If your room is on the 19th or 20th floor, you had another elevator to take you there. My husband didn't like that the shower was leaky and the bathroom doorknobs were loose. We had a desk chair and a lounge chair but both of my friends had no chair in their room. I guess getting a credit for $15 at Mr. Ed's restaurant downstairs made up for the dingyness."

"The property is desperately in need of a renovation and upgrades. The rooms are not well maintained. Our room had two large windows. One of the windows had blackening curtains (one side was falling down). The second window was only covered by sheer (see-through) curtains. We weren't thrilled to have the sun shining through every day. Also, the room was cleaned very oddly. In one case, our bed was made up but they (forgot??) didn't leave clean towels. When we called the desk for fresh towels, we were told that someone would bring them up. We were running late for a scheduled tour after we waited almost an hour for towels. The Lobby does not have a restroom. It's terribly inconvenient to have to go all of the way to your room. The only on site restaurant has a very limited breakfast menu. They have a problem with locals loitering just outside the entrance. They are understaffed. I would NEVER stay here again and would NEVER recommend this hotel. Crown Plaza should be ashamed to ahve thier name associated with this "low rent" atrocity."

"I was a bit concerned by some of the more negative reviews, but we must have stayed in two different hotels because I thought this hotel was great. The difference may be that the hotel is a collection of buildings (some newer, some older) on the same block, but that's just a guess. In any case, we'll definitely be staying there again next time."

"This hotel was located centrally to our trip both for the French Quarter and food. JazzFest transport busses came directly to the front door. Very convenient that Cafe Beignet is connected to the hotel as this is where we ate before heading to the JazzFest each morning and had wonderfully fresh beignets later in the evening when we felt hungry. Hotel staff were very friendly as are most people in New Orleans. Rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Nice view of the Riverside from our room. Liked the bar and music that were located in the front lobby. Wonderful stay."
