“Tout le personnel fut d'une gentillesse à faire pâlir les grands hôtels. La chambre était grande, moderne et tres fonctionnelle. La propriété est immense et superbement entretenue. Le petit déjeuner ? Un délice sur toute la ligne avec un bon choix de pain, gâteaux, fromage, charcuteries et biens d'autres choses. Nous recommandons sans hésitation cet établissement. ”

“Beautiful hotel. Absolutely stunning views from our patio. Breakfast and dinner were amazing. Our room was incredibly clean. The drive up to the hotel was a challenge,(for us) however, the staff drove our luggage down to our car after our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this property to stay at in your travels.”

“We are a family of 5 with 3 kids under 12. We visited in March and it was very quiet/serene. Portovella has a beautiful view of the Douro. Riverside walk is just several steps down a hill. Photos don’t do it justice because it is so breathtaking in person. The comfort suite was the perfect size with 2 bathroom ensuites and a powder room. View from the suite was incredible. Just plan ahead if you’re staying on a Sunday as many restaurants were closed but we found a gem in Cinfaes - Sabores e...

“Wow ! This is an Exceptional guesthouse, 5 *! I would highly recommend this location. Manuel is the host and will treat you as a family member. He is welcoming and approachable should your have questions or need anything. Rooms are spotless and very comfortable with all of the necessary amenities. Balconies look out over the river.
