Traditional Onsen Accomodation.
The property is slightly dated & the style of the rooms in the main block were old. However its public bath/ hotspring (i.e. onsen) were newly decorated & very roomy / well-lighted. It would be perfect if the rooms are facing the river which is the major HIGHLIGHT of the Gero township. The breakfast was excellent & recommend fellow travellers to also book dinner with the hotel as there is basically not many restaurants nearby in a hotspring township like this.

The check-in staff was impolite and indifferent. Also, the room we stayed in was outdated and dirty. The only plus is the beautiful onsen (public bath).

Nice place but needs updating.
We were put in the old wing which was inconvenient to get to and run down. Room was large and comfortable but they didn’t fix the mattress daily. There was drinking water on the first day and then I had to go get myself on other days. Had Kaiseki on the first night, not as good as others I’ve tried. Staff were polite and helpful. Overall a good stay.

極好體驗，洋室是新館
稍為高少少地方，係一個好多年的歷史建築物，本館係舊和室，新館係洋室。百年既住宿，房間好新，好乾淨，服務人員親切。而且係一個好的溫泉體驗。

The hotel provided shuttle bus to the Gero Station, which I thought was very convenient!! I stayed in the new building that rooms are western style. My room was very big, new, and came with balcony, facing the river. I really liked the pillow and comforter, also bath room.

Clean central hotel
Simple check in, even if Google takes you to the wrong side of the building. Staff had enough English to help and the room was clean and recenty refurbished.

Great Onsen experience
I upgraded my room because the actual room I booked condition not really satisfied, after upgrade my room, i really enjoy the room design and tatami, it's a balcony to have a river view and also a place to make tea also to see the river view. The onsen indoor and outdoor is big enough and relaxing. The shop near lobby also sell a lots of souvenir. The hotel will arrange the tatami at 7pm.

Nice hotel (Ryokan) in a spa town
We chose this hotel because Takayama was full (float festival) and only one hour away by rail. The hotel was big and mainly used by Japanese clients. Our bathroom only had a toilet and basin so we were forced to use the onsen. This is highly recommended. Our room was fine otherwise and just across the river from the rail station. Recommended.

Slightly faded, but delightful
Gero is a slightly faded hot springs resort town, and the Ogawaya is a slightly faded, but still charming and attentive, large ryokan-style hotel. Tatami-mat rooms are good-sized and clean, futons comfortable, and bathing facilities (indoor and outdoor) decently maintained. Buffet breakfasts are outstanding.

My stay in Gero Onsen
The hotel's location is great. All spots of attractions are just short distance away. The room we stay are clean and tidy. Both the receptionist and service personnel there are friendly and helpful. The hotel contributes a significant portion of the very good memories during my stay in Gero Onsen

整體來說不錯
溫泉旅館位置很好，離車站過一條橋就到，JR站出口就有各酒店的人員舉住酒店牌在等候，溫泉池共有四個，個人最喜歡高碳酸那個，清晨一早去泡半露天池，然後去食早餐 早餐自助的，check out time 11點，10:10分酒店有車送去車站

接客が　大変良く　気持ちが良かったです 温泉、水に濡れてもよい　畳みが敷き詰められた　場所も　あり 夜は、本館と別館の　2種類の温泉に入りました。 朝は、本館の男性から女性専用に変わる　温泉に入りました。本館では、入れ替わり　ほぼ同じ感じでした。 部屋は、山側より川側がおすすめです

フロントの酷さに呆れた。
素泊まりプランの為、フロントで飲食店の紹介をお願いしたら、食事が出来る店が近くに有ると回答なので、おススメを聞くと別の店を紹介だが店名もすぐ分からず、行ってみる、最悪の居酒屋でした。あまりの酷さに呆れるばかりです。二度と泊まりたくありません。

두번째 방문한 게로 오와가야호텔이었어요. 작년에는 1박이라 넘 아쉬워서 올해는 3박하고 왔거든요. 그래도 아쉬웠어요. 가격대비 좋습니다.

素泊まりでも楽しめる
素泊まりでしたがお部屋も綺麗でしたし、なんと言ってもお風呂が良かったです。大浴場もゆったりしていて露天風呂からの眺めも良かったです。お部屋に行くまでの廊下も広々としていて素泊まりの値段も安価でちょっと得した気分でした。この値段設定ならまた宿泊したいなと思います。
