"- redecorating / construction in the building starting from 7AM— impossible to sleep / work — called down to the front desk twice and they didn’t do anything — kept saying they didn’t hear anything so they assumed the noise had stopped.
Also found the sticker of the bedding (size of the bedding) stuck to me when I woke up — which leads me to believe the sheets were never washed — I’m hoping they were at least new and unwashed, and not just unwashed between guests."
"It’s a very nice hotel with a quirky layout- thanks to being in a listed building. The staff are great, and the food very good. The only issue is parking; it’s a bit of a walk from the Jamaica Street car park, which can be tricky if you have a lot of luggage."
"Well located clean Hotel with understanding staff kind enough to allow us Early Access to our room as we were very jet lagged. Be mindful that there is an active Irish pub under the hotel which can get quite rowdy on weekends"
"Carefully tended, well maintained and tastefully decorated hotel convenient to train station but very quiet. Helpful staff. One of the best breakfast buffets."
"I thought by booking a private room we would have a bathroom, NOPE! Shared toilets with men and women and public showers. The only hotel I have seen give you earplugs and a condom in the room. Did not feel clean. Cleaning staff were sitting on the floor right outside our room talking so loud at 7am it woke us up. People were fighting and yelling all night. Horrible sleep."
"Overall hotel was ok and did the job but was overpriced in my opinion.
Got locked out of our room and trailed up and down to reception 4 times before it was sorted. Got offered a free cocktail but as we were trying to go up to the room to bed it was wasted. Personally I have stayed in better hotels in Glasgow."
