Loved that this beautiful, Victorian brownstone was right on the bus line and had a great restaurant nearby. We had an issue with the room after we checked in but was impressed with the quick and professional way the problem was handled. We loved our room and breakfast was definitely worth the extra money.

The hotel was a lovely town house in a great part of the West End; perfect for exploring the University of Glasgow, Kelvingrove Park, the Botanical Gardens, the shops and restaurants on Byres Road and Ashton Lane and Great Western Road. Only a 10 minute walk from Hillhead Subway, so an easy route from Glasgow Central. We did not eat at the hotel, as there are too many other restaurants around which are more interesting and probably better food. The room decor was pretty tired, but fine for our purposes.

On our arrival we were greeted warmly and booking in took just a minute. Then the lovely gentleman carried our bags up to our room. It is an old building and the original features are beautifully preserved. Even though our room was on the roadside our nights were quiet. For breakfast there is a great continental style with the addition of cooked and really tasty choices there too. We can recommend the full Scottish or the omelette or the waffle all really delicious. The staff were all really friendly and so helpful with advice for getting to places in the city. It is a bed and breakfast but finding somewhere for an evening meal is only a 15 minutes walk away and many choices there too. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Glasgow to continue our exploration of a really wonderful city.

No elevator and we were up 4.5 flights of stairs at tippy top it was soo hot up there and we had to ask for a fan and blanket to block the sun from coming in the bathroom which was heating up everything. This place is much more dated than it looks on line. The room was nice and large, location was good too. Directions and parking was confusing.

It definitely pays to read all communication from the hotel prior to arrival. Then you get the check-in instructions beforehand. Otherwise, a decent hotel in a lovely part of Glasgow, just across the road from the Botanic Gardens and a stone's throw from the vibrant West End. Lovely freshly made breakfast, and friendly staff serving. The room was basic, but clean and served its purpose. Up in the gods mind you, a bit of a climb!

The hotel is in an excellent location, which was really great for us! Unfortunately our room was in the basement so it didn’t get a lot of light and the room was very sparse and a little tired looking. But it was very clean! The beds were very comfortable and we got a really good night’s sleep. I’m sure the rooms higher up the building were better and brighter! The staff were friendly, but we didn’t have a lot of interaction as we ate breakfast out. The building and neighbourhood is very beautiful, but it would be nice if they invest in a bit of updating of the furnishings. Saying that, our stay was very reasonably priced for the area. Overall, I would recommend (just check in easily to avoid the basement!!)

Super spacious, quiet room with comfortable beds in a great location. I sprained my ankle walking around Glasgow and one of the sweet women at the front desk was very helpful, giving me an ice pack and helping me down the stairs to my room. I felt very cared for. When we first checked in, the staff were welcoming, offered suggestions for things to check out in the area and provided a map. Didn't get a chance to check out the bar on site but it looked cute! I'd stay here again.

There were very few guests and for whatever reason some of us were staying on the 3rd floor - 80 steps up. The winding last flight had an incomplete hand rail. Aged 78, I found the ascent with my luggage tiring. There was no bedside lamp, and the room was a bit cold. The extra blanket was needed. The hotel reminded me of the rented flats that I stayed in when I worked in Glasgow in the early 70’s. Shabby, but adequate. £120 per night was too much for that room on the 3rd floor. I would not stay there again. The staff were helpful and breakfast was fine.

It is an old building, so keep that in mind. When you use the shower it is hard to keep the water contained to the bath so I think there may be a little water damage or mold in floor boards from that. But other than that it is a beautiful location, quiet area for the city, helpful staff, and large, LARGE spacious rooms. Overall a good stay but I think there was mold or just dust because my allergies kicked in really bad in this room.

£50 fine for parking outside the hotel. Whilst we can't blame the hotel because there is a warning in their greeting message... our check-in was limited to speaking to somebody on a Ring Doorbell. Nobody on reception, so no-one to talk to. I would have asked "okay to park here?" if there had actually been somebody present - the parking sign is half way down the street and meter in not obvious. All felt a bit impersonal. Bathroom a bit dated with an unspeakably large bath...a good shower would have been better. Parking police left a bitter taste at the end. Acknowledge my fault, but after a long & tiring journey it feels like I've fallen victim to the tourist tax.

If I could give this hotel more than 5 stars, I would. The hotel is beautiful, the breakfast is fantastic, and the staff is lovely. I really cannot say enough about the staff. These ladies somehow know exactly how much attention you might need, and when, intuitively. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone.
