"Friendly helpful staff, excellent room with plenty of space and storage, comfy bed"

"Good location, parking was plentiful and appeared safe. Hotel room was clean as were the linens and towels however our room was above the bar and you could hear people chatting downstairs. The shower was small but functional, although the shower door was broken. Corridors to the rooms were tired and needed some tlc. Unfortunately we had to leave early so couldn't enjoy breakfast to it's fullest but the buffet bit was well stocked although some pastries would have been welcome as we couldn't...

"Great place to stay for Forest Live. Hotel is lovely, warm and welcoming. It was a warm day so quite hot inside but we spent time outside in the huge gardens, the bar was open and we sat next to the river. Breakfast was superb, fresh fruit and proper butchers sausages! Would definitely stay again."

"Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Breakfast is cooked to order and of an excellent quality. The staff are all helpful and efficient. The hotel is ideally situated for access to the town centre, Dad's Army Museum, bus station and is about 15 minutes' walk from the train station. The bar is welcoming and serves a good selection of drinks. There is a small outdoor courtyard area in which to sit if the weather permits.
