Great Lakes, North America hotel rooms at the Independent

"The Congress is a short wall to the Symphony, and the art museum. It's an old hotel but clean and everything worked. Mattresses were a little too firm for me. "

"It is a nice property with upscale finishings. There is a strong cigarette odor in the lobby. When we checked in they had no reservation for us and blamed Expedia. I stood at the front desk for 20 minutes while the lady at the desk waited on her phone to try to get it fixed. She looked po'ed and did not offer me any updates, even though she was obviously on hold. When I asked for a status she simply said she is working on it. Finally I asked her for the manager and she rudely pointed to...
