"This is a great place to stay highly recommend! Reasonably priced and very good value. The room we had was quite comfortable on the top floor with a private balcony area, perfect for us smokers. We were right in the heart of the center easy walking distance to castle and pubs/ nightlife. The front desk is located just across the street and the staff were all super friendly and helpful! "The hotel location is fantastic, walking trail is on the door step, it’s so beautiful and peaceful with full of buttercups in the meadowlands. Wonderful National Trust Houses and Gardens like Melford Hall, Lavenham Guildhall and Ickworth all in 30 minutes driving. Besides the sound proof is weak, room #8 is good size for a single occupancy, although I paid for a double room. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. "

"It as a beautiful 1400 Grade 1-listed building, which was great, but I had problems with the shower. In my initial room the water was lukewarm at best. I was moved to another where the water was hot but the shower was weak. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was good. They had soya milk for my coffee."
