"Getting a washer or dryer took a very long time because people would either forget about their stuff or add 60 minutes. Would be helpful if there was a basket to put someone else’s clothes, so you could take your turn (give a 10-15 pickup window or it goes in a basket). Breakfast was fantastic!"

"Well located property and clean. Easy check in and check out process. Laundry facilities small but very clean and functional. Standard room is small, on average a bit larger than Tokyo standards; stay organized and you will be fine. Walls show some of the age or lack of space with lots of scuffs but otherwise, very neat and lovely staff. The only thing I will say is that this is a boutique hotel and so you do not have much space to “hang out” in your room, making the shared amenities important (lobby with seating area for breakfast and hotel guests, with beverages available, tables to work and have a break, etc) - this should therefore be kept available at all times. However, on one of the days of our stay, we were rudely told by some kind of school delegation that we were “not allowed” to use the lobby, after which they asked the staff to cordon off the area while pointing at us saying we were disturbing, which the staff indulged. A bit offputting for paying guests. Otherwise, a good experience. "

"Great location! Clean and staff was tremendous! Manager (fluent in English) helped me resolve a SUICA card issue, by writing out the problem in Japanese. Presented it to subway service tech, he read the note, resolved the card issue… “Okie Dokie” less than a minute! They also had onsite washing machines! Tremendously useful (600 yen) halfway thru trip to clean up suitcase clo th es! Breakfast included, minimal amount by US standards, but coffee and tea were on point! Would not hesitate to stay at a Prince Smart hotel elsewhere in Japan now but especially in Kyoto they are doing very nice things here! Well done!"

"Came to Kyoto for a few days to explore the city, Osaka, and Nora. This hotel was very well located on a main street, but was quiet enough in the rooms themselves. The staff was very friendly and the amenities were in the front desk area so you could take as much as you needed. The rooms were a good size for a room in Japan."

"10/10 it’s on the strip of all the shops & dinning Rooms incredibly small. Big minus they don’t provide room service more than twice a week. Stayed there 7 days got our room cleaned once ! Second time all they did was take trash out and restock towels ! Had to sleep in dirty sheets after we asked for room service to be done . Hotel in general small super small lobby nothing to do "
