“Green dragon has now become my favourite place to stay ”

“Our welcome when we arrived was excellent. Liz was very helpful telling us sbout breakfast etc. Our room no 5 was quite spacious and had a nice view of the hillside of the dale. Breakfast was well cooked and tasty. Glenn was very efficient and knowledgeable about the area and made you feel relaxed with his banter. The en suite was a tad small but we managed ok. Will return and stay with them again at some point if we are visiting the area.”

“Everything was perfect, from the friendly check in by Neil to our check out by a lovely lass whose name I have sadly forgotten The breakfast was superb. The room spacious and clean. We were in room 4 and the only downside, for me, having a sensitive sense of smell was being woken in the comfy bed by the strong smell of bleach, it was even worse in the breakfast area. It did not bother my husband at all. If I stayed again, I would ask for a room higher up, or further away from the bar area and...

“Staff were friendly ”

“Lovely cosy cottage. Close to the high street and Wensleydale creamery. ”

“Spotlessly clean room, staff very friendly and willing to help - recognised I need to use 2 sticks & immediately helped me with luggage. Very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast next door at Cocketts. Good banter at bar with landlord first evening. Slight downsides - old furniture, poorly fitting drawers, no wardrobe (though I didn't need one)”

“Only pet friendly in some areas Sticky surfaces on some bar tables. Apparently’nothing can be done about this’! Unique residential Inn that feels rather like a youth hostel. With a bit of effort could be superb ”

“Stayed here for the first time 14 March oh my what a treat. We stayed in the James Herriot room and it’s the little details such as a piece of cake a glass of port and the accessories were in keeping with the great man himself all very well thought out. We dined that evening and we were not disappointed the food was exceptional and well executed. A warm and welcoming experience by staff who were so friendly!”

“I felt comfortable soon has i walked in staff where lovely, the only thing was they had a power cut for 12 hours and it was pitch black in the bedroom i know its not there fault but i have a walking disability which i try to keep to my self. But other than that i have had a fantastic stay.”

“We stayed in a family room. It was very spacious, clean and comfy. The Inn is not far from Kendal cbd (less than 10 min drive). The hotel does do dinner, it is a little pricey tho. The included breakfast was quite good (cereals and full english breakie style included in our stay). ”

“The room was very well appointed with ornate, high quality furniture generating a comfortable and unique experience. Kev and Maria were very welcoming in making us feel like our stay was a home from home.”
