Good hotel, inconvenient location

We booked a 12 night stay to cover our trip to Houston. The first room we stayed in was not suitable, the next morning I spoke to reception and we were immediately moved. The room was spacious and had good facilities, a microwave and fridge cut our food bills down a lot. The air con was great and well needed as it was very warm when we stayed. The housekeepers were great, nothing was too much trouble and we enjoyed our stay. The only downsides were the traffic noise, as the hotel is right on the motorway it was very loud, ear plugs definitely recommended and the lack of public transport. We did not hire a car, so had to order an Uber each time we went out, which soon racked up. You can walk to local stores and restaurants, but only along the motorway which does not have any pavements, so is a bit hairy. Overall the hotel was good and the staff were nice, its just not very convenient

I was in room 114. The smoke detector was off and the wires were hanging from the ceiling. There was roaches. The tub was dirty . The sheets weren’t changed. The blanket was a curtain. The bed was flimsy. The TV didn’t work. Toilet paper was almost finished. Only 2 towels.
