"This was a nice hotel and this easily would have been a 5 star review if not for the bathroom. There was mold. A lot of it. All over the ceiling above the shower and within the sealant on the shower door. It was pretty bad. Hindsight has me realizing I should have asked for another room to see if the issue was widespread but we weren’t in the room a whole lot and managed fine. Everything else about this stay was nice - employees were friendly; breakfast was good; the bar was well stocked; amenities, while competitive to book, were good."

"Red Carnation properties are always lovely and unique. Rubens is in a fantastic location, easy walk to so many central sights and areas. The staff is warm and welcoming and spring into helpfulness as soon as you appear. Raining? I had an umbrella handed to me before I left. Had a very early flight and had assistance from the moment I went to the lobby."

"This hotel has an amazing location but it stops there. Beds are extremely uncomfortable. The king bed is just two twin beds sandwiched together with a very uncomfortable seem in the middle. Mattresses are so old that the springs are gone. Hotel is dated and in need of upgrades. Moths flying around the halls and annoying cleaning staff that still knocks when you have do not disturb sign on. I saw a very fast moving insect in my bathroom on the last day. Would not recommend staying here. AC and fridge both very loud. Toilet runs. Not sure how this is even 4 star"
