“Great stay and really cool historical building. If arriving late be aware that parking might be tough and you might need to park in a nearby garage.”

“I will keep this simple. This is place is a dump. A terrible hotel. We were placed on the third floor and the building has no lift. So I had to carry my wife’s and my luggage up 3 flights of stairs. I am 71 years old, in good shape, so it was not a problem, the greeter didn’t offer any assistance. He sat outside on the patio eating a sandwich while I carried our luggage into a terribly laid out room which was dirty and shabby. The breakfast the next morning was the bare minimum of acceptable....

“Very quiet location but near enough to the Normandy beaches and ferry terminal at Caen. We had a lovely big bedroom and en-suite in Tom's well renovated home. All the breakfast options were tempting but we went down the croissant, pain au chocolat, crusty bread route. Tom was very friendly and attentive. We hope to return when next in the area.”

“Of all the places we stayed on our three-week trip, Le Doux Refuge was by far our favourite. Christine and Christoph made us feel at home from the very start, and they treated my father like he was the most important person in the world. That means a lot to me, It’s hard to know where to start when explaining why we loved it here. Firstly, the location: quiet, safe, local and with easy access to every possible location in Normandy. Secondly, the accommodation: beautifully decorated,...
