"Hotel Talisman is what I would call, "A hidden gem". Very nice and clean with a gorgeous roof top pool. It's located in the center of town at a pretty town square. It's also 1/2 the price of the close by large hotels. Wish we stayed here longer."

"Firstly, I must say that the staff at the VIP Executive Azores Hotel is by far the most professional, helpful and friendly staff we've ever interacted with. The service throughout our stay was exemplary. Our deepest thanks goes to restaurant staff Hugo, Paulo, Erica and Elizaura. Enrique at the reception desk was always helpful and ready to hear about our day. The hotel is perfectly situated to the City Centre, the harbour, the pineapple plantation and the botanical gardens. The restaurant meals were fantastic, from the breakfast and dinner buffets to the sit down service provided at lunch. Our room balcony faced the ocean, and the rooftop terrace provides a view of the harbour and the landscape. Great experience!"

"Definitely consider this hotel! Solo traveler who liked the small 'apartment' style room I booked. One room was a kitchenette with table/tv/sofa and another was the bedroom with attached bath. I could cook or microwave food and store items in the refrigerator. The Hotel seemed relatively new or newly-renovated. Breakfast was provided and it was well staffed and offered a range of food and drink options. Nice location just a few blocks from the center of Ponta Delgada and a view of the Atlantic Ocean. I did not partake of the hotel's offered baths and pool, but many did. One downside is a tiny elevator so on occasion have to take the stairs to save time--five floors up for me--worked off a few calories."

"It’s a nice hotel. Great location close to the main downtown. Great pool and jacuzzi. Unfortunately there is no mini fridge in the rooms and there’s limited storage for clothes in the rooms. They should allow you to loan a towel for the thermal hot springs. The maids and staff were great. Good breakfast options, typical European choices. All in all a nice hotel for a fair price."

"The hotel is well located within 15 minutes walk to downtown. Parking is available for additional 5 euros, however there is plenty of parking spaces in front of hotel and it's free from 19:00 till 08:00 next day. Pay at meter. Hotel includes breakfast bar, although it's exactly the same every day so it gets a bit tiring. However, it's convenient and plenty of food to fill up before your daily activities. They provide beach towel service for free, which was very welcoming and convenient. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Hotel has a pool, which we didn't use so can't comment on it. Overall we were satisfied and would recommend."

"Pros: Great location, right in the middle of cute, walkable streets with lots of restaurants and shops. The property is located on a closed street (no cars) which is very nice. In addition, the front desk personnel (especially Ana) are very helpful. Getting to the property via taxi from airport is easy and convenient - approx 10-12 euros, and they drop you off at the corner of the property. The included breakfast was good, nothing out of the ordinary, but a nice way to start your day. Cons: The rooms are extremely dated and are in disrepair - need some TLC and maintenance. Our bed was hard as a rock, and squeaked every time we barely moved. Overall, a very good location to explore the city on foot, especially if you do not need a 5-star hotel. (We used it as an overnight before our outoing flight)"
