Hotel B Unique - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"We recently stayed at Hotel B Unique and overall had a great experience. The property is beautifully landscaped and sits right on the ocean with amazing emerald-colored water and incredible sunsets each evening. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and fairly large. About half overlook the ocean while the others face the jungle side of the property. The hotel has two clean pools, including an adults-only pool, although the water was a little warmer than we prefer. There is also a jacuzzi on site. There is no sandy beach, but there is a small lagoon-style entry into the ocean. Be careful of sea urchins in the area. Once outside the lagoon, the snorkeling is very good, and the water is deep enough for a nice shore dive, especially at night. The food was very good but somewhat expensive, and the restaurant service was quite slow. We often waited a long time for water and to place our order. The hotel also does not offer an all-inclusive option, which may matter to some travelers. Since the hotel is located about 10 minutes north of the ferry pier, I would recommend renting a car for longer stays so you can explore local restaurants and the island more easily. Overall, this is a beautiful boutique-style hotel with great ocean access, relaxing views, and a peaceful atmosphere."

El Cozumeleño Beach Resort - All Inclusive

"We have stayed there many times and this time was the worst. We arrived a day late because our flight was delayed due to weather. They would not give us credit for the night we lost. The front desk staff were not very friendly. The tv didn’t work and someone came to fix it only to tell us that they had no free tv. If we wanted to watch tv we had to have a subscription to streaming services. The food was horrible. They convinced us to make reservations for dinner in the restaurant inside that is only open now for dinner. We waited and went to our reservations only to be denied entry because my husband had dress shorts on and not long pants. When we told them he didn’t have any long pants with him they just said he couldn’t go in. We had to eat elsewhere. Food is very limited as to what you can order just at certain times. They advertise the swim up bar is now open when it was only open the day we arrived. We arrived the Friday and left the Tuesday and it was only open on the Friday The pool water was extremely cloudy. We only saw them clean the pool with a net to remove floating things in the water the whole time we were there. I sent the resort messages since Sept 4, 2025 and they never answered any of them. We even wanted to upgrade our room and we still didn’t receive an answer. They have only about 5 employees there that go out of their way to help you in any way they can. We usually go once a year there but this was our last trip staying there. All inclusive is a joke."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Playa Cozumel. Having the beach just steps away made mornings and sunsets especially nice, and the property felt quiet and private the entire time. The house was clean, comfortable, and easy to settle into. The staff and concierge were kind and attentive, checking in when needed and helping with anything we asked. Overall, it was a very relaxed and pleasant stay, and we would happily come back."
