I can't say enough about our experience at Colter Bay Village! What is better than staying in a log cabin, inside the Grand Teton National Park for your 20 year anniversary!? Well, maybe a mini fridge in the cabin... that would have made the stay better, but we bought a tiny little cooler, used the free ice provided to fill it and were set. Trails nearby, wildlife around, convenience store, restaurants, laundry and a marina are all within walking distance. Pricey, but you're inside a national park, so it's expected. Shower was super tiny! Clean, comfy beds. Rented kayaks at the marina and had a wonderful experience! Colter Bay is a perfect location to get to everywhere in the park. A lot of the trails we attempted forced us to turn back due to quite a bit of snow in the higher elevations so that was a bummer. The huckleberry milkshake at the restaurant in the village is soooo delicious though!! We saw thousands of elk, thousands of bison, pringhorn, deer, river otters, coyotes, bald eagle, 2 cinnamon black bears, and 2 MOOSE (my favorite!)! We are already planning to come back and bring our kids bevause this place is like a little slice of heaven... where bears may try to eat you!! Just rent your bear spray; know what to do if you encounter a bear, moose, bison, elk, etc; and be alert on the trails, on the roads, and pretty much everywhere. I cannot wait to come back!!
