4/10
I travel a lot in Canada and Europe, staying in 2-4 star hotels, and I have never put in a review before for any of them. I am making an exception this time in the hopes that this reaches the management and they can make some small changes to make this hotel one I would not write a review about. The hotel itself was fine; the location was easy to access and a short drive from things youโd want to get to, the breakfast was mostly good (aside from burnt-black bacon), the beds were comfortable. Nothing to complain about there. Where the hotel fell down was communication, and I think itโs just down to staff not being fully trained:
- we were not informed there was no elevator (other groups I saw checking in with different staff the next day were told) and we were not given the option of a main floor room (those other groups were)
- we were not informed there would be no housekeeping on a multi-night stay because of staffing shortages, and we didnโt see the sign about it until we went down to get more towels because it was blocked by other notices
- when I pulled the blanket back to get into bed the first night the sheets were dirty, and because they didnโt have enough staff the girl was on the desk by herself, so I had to go get new sheets and make the bed myself. Iโm quite capable of doing all of that, but there was no apology for the inconvenience and thatโs what irked me more than anything.
The staff was friendly, just maybe not fully trained in customer service.
