“Ski vacation. Clean and very accommodating for ski equipment. Older building that has been well cared for with rooms that are simply decorated and updated. Fridge, micro and counter eating area perfect for making simple breakfast and eating leftovers. Easy walking access to restaurants even in sloppy winter conditions. ”

“This property is very dated, and it shows it, through flow around the three buildings to get to the amenities, parking areas, fixtures, appliances, dilapidated exteriors, bathroom, and common spaces. These buildings are 45 years old and they wear it. The room was a fine space to spend a weekend, but a cheap, clunky, ugly portable 'closet' installed between the bedroom and living room in place of a wall interrupted the flow of the unit in a jarring manner. “gym was well equipped the woman's changing room reeked of urine as the toilets were not flushing. Everything was musty and smelled awful. The steamer room was closed , the heated pool entrance was filthy The Mountain View was exceptional even though the weather was horrible ”

Located perfectly between Killington and Woodstock. Lots of bars and restaurants in the area. Probably one of the cleanest motels I’ve ever stayed in, would definitely recommend. ”

“The Shire is in a wonderful location and I would recommend for a short stay. They are in the midst of a renovation and the rooms and exterior are nice and well kept. My only issue was that the coffee bars were not well stocked all the time with the same variety and the ice machine was not well stocked as it ran out of water to produce ice during our 2 night stay. Otherwise, the place and location is wonderful.”

“My family of 3 stay here about every six weeks. We have been staying at the 506 for about 8 years now. While we love the location, the staff at breakfast, and the pool/hot tub, the shared spaces during this visit seemed worn, not the cleanest and the number of staff was sparse. They have increased their prices since the new owners took over about a year ago and although they’ve updated the rooms with paint, new linens, decor, it seems the family vibes and familiarity are non-existent. ”

“Best hotel in Rutland. Breakfast was good. Staff were good. Room was very good. Features like self-serve laundry and a pool are token amenities but appreciated. The hotel was recently renovated and it shows. The hotel is right next to a retail plaza with a decent restaurant and big supermarket, and is very easy to drive in and out of to access the area.”
