This is a wonderful, quality hotel with a great location. The downstairs bar and restaurant areas are particularly impressive. But, my particular room was small with poor ventilation. It overlooked a roof area with large external extractor fans that were noisy, throughout the night. The provided table top fan rattled noisily and could not be used. It may be best to book rooms in the main building. For those in the 'hundred' block, the hotel should install quality fans and look at putting the external extractor fans in some kind of soundproofed housing.
The Duke’s Head Hotel is a wonderful place to stay when you visit King’s Lynn. The building has a lot of character and the hotel is centrally located, right in the heart of the town center. The staff members are also friendly and helpful and not to mention that the place has an excellent in house restaurant. Highly recommended for all your travel needs.
We stayed at The Duke’s Head Hotel for three nights & on registering, we were given a complimentary upgrade. The room was lovely with a lounge, bedroom & bathroom, being very comfortable & clean.
The staff were very helpful & friendly.
Our booking included breakfast & there was a wide & good choice. We had an evening meal on our first night which was well presented & delicious.
The hotel is ideally situated for getting around King’s Lynn.
The only disadvantage is that although there is parking behind the hotel, it is a pay car park(£15 per 24hrs).
The bath was quite deep which could be a problem for anyone with a physical disability to get in & out of, the shower being over the bath & was quite slippery.
However, I would definitely stay here again if visiting Norfolk.
Great price and location. Comfortable bed and nice bedroom. Only problem was stairs

Very antique hotel located in the heart of kings Lynn so easily accessible however, no parking. The hotel could inform guests of the 20-minute free parking at the front of the hotel to aid drop off, as the hotel parking itself has no free parking and is overpriced.
The rooms and hotel itself though very outdated are clean, but no water was provided in the rooms. When In asked staff gave me water in a jar so this helped.
The breakfast was extremely basic. Girl could do with a few more options.
I’d say the hotel is very over priced

The history of the old hotel
The narrow stairs to the top are hazardous
Very difficult to carry luggage up and down
there is no lift in the old hotel
Lovely hotel in a central location. Parking at the hotel was easy but expensive but there are plenty of other car parks close by, e.g. Tuesday Market Place car park is outside the hotel
The staff we extremely friendly and very helpful.
We ate one night in the hotel restaurant, the food was very nice and reasonably priced. The service was extremely good despite there being a large coach party also dining at the same time.
The hotel bar was reasonably priced and very welcoming.
There were lots of areas to sit and relax/socialise outside of your room.
The only downside was I couldn't get the climate control in the room working.
Ideal location on Tuesday market square and local focal points and bars and restaurants with parking at the rear of the property.

This was our fourth stay at the Duke’s Head for the Festival Too event, but unfortunately it was by far the most disappointing.
Our room on this occasion was Room 403. It was extremely small, with only a narrow gap on one side of the bed, which made getting in and out of bed awkward for one of us. There were also no electrical sockets beside the bed, which meant we could not keep a phone nearby to use as a clock. In fact, the only sockets appeared to be two double sockets in the corner by the dressing table. However, the worst issue was the heat in the room. It was unbearably hot, and even opening the window made very little difference. We appreciate that the weather was warm, but surely there should be some form of adequate ventilation, particularly as the bathroom did not appear to have any ventilation either. Breakfast, which has always been good during our previous stays, was also disappointing this time. We repeatedly had to ask for items that had run out, including boiling water, fried eggs, orange juice and yoghurts. Overall, we enjoyed the festival, but we were very disappointed with our stay and feel that the Duke’s Head really needs to address these issues.
The room was amazing and already cooled down but we also had a fan. It was a very hot day. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Booked our next stay already
This very interesting historic hotel with lots of historic displays for our viewing was of great interest, the staff friendly, helpful always with a smile, table service in the bar was excellent , breakfast well you name it ,it was on offer we had excellent quality traditional English breakfast, may I add the whole hotel spotlessly clean the room was excellent a good view of the cathedral and the beds really comfortable we slept well, I will be going there monthly if the price is right by discount available periodicly.
Hotel is centrally located on the main market square. Don’t use their car park as it will cost you £15. I paid £7.80 to park on the square till 12 noon following day. Free or cheaper if you leave earlier. But my main gripe was that they could not provide me with any à la carte breakfast items even off the buffet. All I wanted was 1x egg on toast and a cup of coffee. I told the staff that due to recent weightloss surgery I couldn’t physically eat any more to warrant paying £12 for the full breakfast buffet.
Booked this hotel for my parents for for a concert at the corn exchange. They were really pleased with their stay. Their room was spacious with lovely decor, the breakfast was great and staff really friendly. Would recommend.
Clean, lovely and spacious rooms, very nice hotel, walkable area, helpful staff.
