Significant understaffing through out the hotel not acceptable for this grand and historic property. Lots of extra fees on the checkout bill, almost funny except it wasn't. Late checking us in. Room and shower were nice. Location is great.

I expected a lot more. Don’t get me wrong—the place is beautiful and overall it was a nice experience. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, which I appreciated. However, the concierge at check-in didn’t feel very welcoming and came off a bit unfriendly, which set an odd tone at the start. The property itself could also use a little TLC—the pool, for example, was missing a row of tiles, which took away from the overall impression. I left with mixed feelings. I still had a good time, but I can’t help but feel like it didn’t quite live up to the expectations I had.

The staff was amazing from start to finish. The front desk assisted us with a room upgrade, and the valet even gave us a ride on their golf cart so we could make our dinner reservation on time. We ordered room service for breakfast the night before, and it arrived right on schedule the next morning. The room itself was great and very comfortable. The only thing I would suggest improving is the toilet fixtures—the handle felt more like something you’d find in a public restroom or bar, which seemed a bit out of place for a luxury resort.
