"Vintage hotel, very clean and the staff were helpful and nice. The location is ideal for walking around the Promenade. The ocean view was memorable."

"First let me say how wonderful the staff was - in particular the conciergerie, the front door staff, the breakfast staff, and the staff in the cabana/beach area - they really went above and beyond to make my wife and I’s special occasion even more special - the bouquet in the room was magnificent. However, despite the grand treatment we received, we were a bit disappointed in the room - it had a wonderful view and a nice bed, but considering that we paid a good deal extra for the tower room, it failed to deliver - it really needed a good overhaul - old paint, holes n the desk and doors, lots of mildew in the bathroom, and worst of all, poor drainage in the shower meant that every time we took a shower, it flooded the entire bathroom and we were lucky it did not spill into the room. So all that to say - great and attentive staff but the room really was not worth the money."

"The manager at the beach club was not accommodating to my 17-year-old daughter. I inquired about having lunch while my daughter went for a swim, but he promptly declined, citing that wet patrons were not allowed in the restaurant. Mind you she was fully covered and not wet! Without giving me a chance to clarify my intentions, he directed us back to the hotel to make a reservation through the reception. Following a call from the receptionist to the beach club, it was confirmed that no reservation was necessary for swimming. In the end, my daughter was adamant about not returning."

"We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Excelsior!! The hotel was very close to the train station and the staff were especially welcoming and friendly!! The room was beautifully maintained and clean, and we even had a small balcony that allowed us to enjoy the warm air of the French Riviera!!"

"Could do with a deeper clean in the actual rooms, some mould and dust near the fan inbuilt and also the bathroom feeling and showers, room (at least the standard one) was quite small however very well decorated, and cleaners visited every day to reset room and towels ect. Staff were friendly and welcoming enough, there was 2 evenings with music but it stopped after 11:30pm so not too much bother. Perfect location to the old town and beach!"
