"This is the place to stay if you are visiting San Simeon or Cambria. It is only about six minutes away from Hearst Castle and another four minutes to get up to viewing the elephant seals. All of the staff is super friendly and attentive to anything you need. The breakfast is something to write home about: eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, cold cereals, fruit: everything you might want. (Did I mention the cookies? Upon check-in or anytime you want to wander to the lobby for a cup of coffee and a cookie.). The pool was warm, even in March, and the hot tub was perfect. "If you're looking for a coastal getaway on the Central Coast, the Cavalier Oceanfront Resort in San Simeon, CA is an absolute gem. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome — everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. We stayed in a Deluxe King Room with a patio and ocean view on the first floor — a perfect setup for us and our service dog. The patio gave our pup easy outdoor access without any hassle, and waking up to an ocean view was simply beautiful. It's worth noting that first floor rooms come with a patio while second floor rooms have a balcony — the layouts are otherwise the same, so it just comes down to personal preference. The room itself was comfortable and well-appointed, and when I called to request fluffier pillows, they were delivered promptly — a small touch that made a big difference. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant and were thoroughly impressed. The Chicken Marsala was absolutely delicious — we enjoyed every single bite. It's the kind of meal that makes you want to skip going out altogether. The Cavalier is a special place — beautifully situated along the Pacific, with a team that clearly takes pride in making every guest feel at home. We will definitely be returning, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway on the California coast. "Had all the basics. Much of the facility is currently under renovation so lobby and some of the grounds store construction supplies."

"The microwave was broken. The coffee maker didn't work. Half of the lights didn't work. We had to ask twice to get the microwave replaced because we were told they forgot. They offered to put us in a different room and took us to see it. It had less lights than the ones in the room we had. They did replace the coffeemaker after multiple requests.The breakfast waffles were good. We won't be back"

"Didn’t expect much from a 3star hotel. The man and woman tending the front were not friendly at all, atleast we didn’t need to interact with them much. Breakfast was minimum, yogurt, waffles, bread and coffee. Location is good, close to food, grocery, Dutch Bros. "

"This is a pleasant hotel in the new San Simeon. Walking distance to the beach, but no direct access from the property. Several restaurants on the same street and across the highway. A pleasant surprise: a private jacuzzi (jet bathtub) in each room! Bring your favorite foam bath."
