It was a really affordable and nice hotel the area is nice all the people are nice around the area and in the building and it felt super safe especially traveling as a girl I really loved that I was in between everything and that there was a store right next to us as well and so is the bus stop the hosts were super helpful and welcoming as well !
They always had someone being able to respond whenever I needed. It would usually take around 3 minutes at max to get a response. Had an issue with the door code and that took a while to get solved. It isn't a hotel, rather an apartment someone rents out. And it's not called the Rebecca it's called Hotel Lafayette. All I needed was a stay to go to the convention center that week and it worked perfectly. The staff / the online messengers were the best part about the entire stay. The surrounding area around the Rebecca was pretty scary and sketchy, but at least there's a Taco Bell. Inside was super nice and maintained. Would stay here again
On fairly quiet corner, neighbors all also friendly and quiet. A couple of the reviews mentioned it being in a ‘rough’ area but I felt much safer than almost any hotel I’ve stayed in Chicago! Bus about 10 min walk away, not super packed with cars which made it nice to uber/Lyft when necessary. Not a ton of authentic food choices super close by but multiple fast food/grab-and-go options. Room was clean and had everything I needed without being overpacked with items. In-unit AC, spacious closet, smart TV, and a cute table/chair area. Was always messaged with kindness and given all appropriate information promptly. I will say, although this did not happen to me, there seemed to rarely be any other guests/managment/workers in the lobby area, so make sure you keep a close eye on whatever key/code is given to you for entering the premises.
Only thing that may be a negative for some people is that there were parties at the below residence (a club, private event space, or something else, I’m not sure?) so at night it was noisy sometimes. But they always were done by 2-4am, and there were never any overly-rowdy guests leaving. I’m someone that enjoys the extra noise while trying to sleep, so it was a welcome disturbance to the usual silence in the hallways during the evenings! If you don’t like that though, simple headphones were plenty for me to drown it out.
I hope I get the chance to stay again my next visit to the area.
I like quaint retro and modernized the room was at first glance. Just right for a solo traveler or couple wanting to explore a little town near diverse cultures and cuisines. Hotel near stores , food, shopping. Convenient little area
honestly it’s not bad, the outside doesn’t really look like the pictures bur the inside is nice, comfortable can’t complain at all, also no parking lot so it was hard to find parking. other than that just frustrated trying to check in cause i thought it was like most hotels where you just walk in and they check you in but there’s no one in there what’s so ever and the place is locked, i didn’t know but i had to look at the messages they sent to get the code to everything and verify the check in

Disliked: Staff & service
The “hotel” appears to be primarily a short-term occupancy property (ie people who rent a place for several weeks). The room was relatively clean if somewhat bare-boned. The biggest issue is that the neighborhood is beyond sketchy. I was afraid to walk in the area near the hotel and certainly didn’t go out at night. I guess you get what you pay for. Also, the name “The Rebecca” is some sort of rebranding - the property itself has signage identifying it as both Hotel Lafayette and Fulton Hotel.
