"The hotel appeared to be fairly new. The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was varied and good. All the staff members were helpful. The hotel is a hike from the downtown area of Truckee, so we drove or took an Uber.
We really enjoyed Truckee. There were a couple of little things that were not as I expected. The fire pit is located near the front door and parking lot and so not very picturesque. The pool is miniscule and is located it a rather uninviting courtyard. But we came for the beautiful area and proximity to Truckee and were happy with the hotel."
"Complicated review - night time the front desk girl was awesome. Thank you! The morning person, I think there’s a humanity that is sadly, going away. No one was at the hotel but me and a few cars and I needed a little more time to work. Policy is let’s get as much money as possible, kindness would have noticed the slow middle of the week day and said ‘no problem! To an extra 30 minutes to an hour in the room. I would have tipped the cleaners for the kindness. Leaving at noon is not uncommon and the night time girl said just give them a call, they should be able to accommodate that for you. It’s like everyone now are just enjoying the power trip of being UNKIND right when they can be. It’s rather odd as the original review was going to be amazing and i would recommend this place. But it’s just so odd to be unnecessarily dismissed for such a small gesture. No ‘can I stay til 2’ nothing of the sorts. I asked can I leave before noon and policy states I have to pay more. If it was busy, I could understand. No one else around! So this is basically a message saying staffing is so incredibly critical and kind people should operate the front desk. Some people with some common sense. I said ‘I thought you would be kind…but thanks for letting me know’. ‘Yes no problem sir’. I would rather have an AI hired so I know to expect a very dismissive unkind response. Very unfortunate departure. The night girl was awesome!"
"The location was great and the hotel was nice. I enjoyed the hot tub and the seating area. Our room was very clean. Some things that didn’t go great: Our room was not ready at 4 and we had to wait a few minutes for them to finish cleaning. It was very clean and I don’t think this is the cleaners fault. I think they need hire more cleaners. The hot tub area was out of towels. The pillows were very flat and uncomfortable and I woke up with a sore back. I would definitely stay again but I would bring my own pillow."
"We stayed in a yurt. It was very comfortable for three people. A bunk bed and one-man cot were provided. Bring your own bedding. (We liked the fact that it had a small fridge, coffee machine, heater, and fan. The designated grill for the yurt was a PLUS for cooking/grilling purposes. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. We appreciated the staff who took the extra care to keep them clean. They literally would scrub the showers daily. The WIFI in the LODGE was a great feature so you could work if you wanted it to. The bathrooms in there were super clean as well. We drove over to the lake nearby - IT was BEAUTIFUL. The only interaction we had with the staff was during checkout. She was very friendly. Overall, great experience for the 3 nights we were there."
