“When we arrived at the hotel it didn't look anything special from the outside. On entering into the small reception we received a very warm welcome and given some local information. We were directed to our room which was very spacious, clean and a nice outlook .
The bed was very comfortable although I found the room warm but my husband slept right through the night, which is unusual for him.
We opted to have dinner in the hotel and although a bit pricy we were very happy with what we ordered.

“Stayed here on a visit to Wigtown in late August 2026. Communication was great with multiple emails confirming reservation and instructions. Although there are no staff of duty the instructions on how to get the key were timely and detailed and we had no problems at all getting in and checking out, and we arrived late. The bunkhouse is clean, smelled fresh, and the rooms were nice. We stayed in rooms 1 & 3 and it was lovely. Also very quite! The bathrooms were modern, very clean, and well...
“The ships cabin is a lovely place to stay for a couple. Everything you need, it’s clean, modern, and well located in Gatehouse. Parking off road just outside on the drive.
The WiFi works, the tv has loads of channels. Very comfortable would recommend. It’s is located centrally in Gatehouse, just a bit away from the Spa, park, Ship pub and a fab ice cream shop. Gatehouse is a lovely place. Very friendly residents. Thank you for a wonderful stay.”
