“I decided to spend a little more and I got the room with a view. The view from a window (with bars, that maybe once was a balcony). The window panels are made of wood and seemed like the original windows from the original constriction of the building. Because of the centralized location of the hotel in Old San Juan, foot traffic was a lot. It was very, very loud at night up until 3:00 am every night, and construction in the early morning too. We stayed in the room with the balcony and it is very large and comfortable. Location in downtown was perfect, and safe. No parking for rentals but there is a municipal parking garage about 3 streets away. We never found the pool in the hotel. Only saw a spa place next door. “The beds were HORRENDOUS and the carpeting was filthy, in the room as well as the hall. The bed was the least comfortable bed I have ever stayed in. Despite there being 3 people on the reservation, we got 2 pillows, and 2 towels and absolutely zero bedding for the sofa bed which is the only place a third person could sleep.
