"We booked a week-long Expedia package to Barcelona to celebrate my 50th birthday with my 79-year-old mum and two sisters.
* **The Room (1509):** Spectacular! Incredibly spacious, beautifully renovated corner room with fantastic views of the Sagrada Familia, great blackout blinds, and an amazing bathroom. The hotel also left lovely birthday touches like balloons, rose petals, and sparkling wine.
* **The Arrival:** Despite requesting twin beds twice via Expedia, we were allocated king beds on separate floors (15 and 25). Andrea at reception was fantastic and moved us both to the 15th floor, though we had to keep the king beds, and room 1508 took a while to be ready.
* **Service:** A bit hit-and-miss for a 5* hotel. Housekeeping and turndown repeatedly lacked Earl Grey tea (once sending green tea after a long wait), and our empty wine bottle/tray sat in the room and hallway for a day before clearance. However, staff at the entrance, pools, restaurants, and concierge were all wonderful.
* **Facilities:** Major construction is ongoing (though it was very quiet). The adults only pool is very small, leaving the family pool incredibly crowded.
Overall, a lovely hotel with stunning rooms that just needs minor fine-tuning on the room service details!"
