"Always wanted to stay here bc mom speaks so highly of this place (she only stays here when in Chicago) & the stay did not disappoint! Booked the room with the lakeside view and the view + natural lighting was great! The hotel/property has historical yet modern charm to it. Everything was clean & mostly up to date! All the hotel staff were friendly, helpful & overall hospitable. Enjoyed some drinks at the bar downstairs, which was a great start to the evening. Loved the location of this hotel as well- it is central to everything and being close to the park/water was nice!!! Will definitely be returning."

"Great hotel in a great location! The place is trendy without being annoying, I liked how new and comfortable it was without being a place that tried too hard to be over-the-top too cool. Everyone was very professional and got me checked in right away and my room was very comfortable and a welcome respite after a long day of travel. I only stayed one night and can't wait to come back and enjoy it again."

"Great location and very busy on the weekends. You can do a lot better for parking on Spothero.com. Try it! The property is an aging up Hilton from the 1990’s. Comfortable, brown and beige and in need of an overhaul. But the pool is rather majestic. Sky high, glass enclosed, well heated and open very early. That goes a long way for me."

"Our room overlooked the Riverwalk. The view was amazing. The fresh, crisp linens and comfortable bed were greatly appreciated after long days of walking and sightseeing. Members of the hotel staff were very helpful, whether providing directions or supplying fresh towels. They were kind and courteous and made us feel welcomed. The location of the River Hotel could not be more convenient, as it is in the heart of the city, making it easy to get to bus lines and trains. I would highly recommend River Hotel for your next visit to Chicago."
