Miami, Florida hotel rooms at the Independent

"Staff awesome! Elevator did not work- carrying luggage up and down- not cool. Our room was not ready at 4pm, rather 4:45. Not the cleanest, but the price was right. No coffee or micro in the room. Streaming services did not work. When I called the front desk from the room phone- no answer. Access to two pools- cool. Free happy hour from 5-6, show room key- fun! "

"South Beach is a very rundown area. The area and the hotel is very busy. Service is very slow. People barely speak English. The rooms at the hotel are decent but small. The bathroom is also small with no storage. Breakfast is not open buffet. They just bring you a plate with pasties and basic food. Nothing special. Pools are not bad but very busy. Ocean is very wavy. If you want just a vacation with sun and beach, go to Dominican to an all inclusive resort. South Beach is very expensive. I would stay at a chain hotel like Iberostar or Roy next time "

"The worst experience at this hotel. Starting with how unfriendly and rude the staff were at check in , dirty and disgusting room and in the end trying to rip us of with breakfast while it was included in the price . We payed a lot of money and never again come back here. ."

"Surrounding area was noisy with Trucks and HVAC units net door. Other breakfast area was packed. Very small area for a 3 building Hotel. But McDonald's next door for breakfast of champions. "

"This was a great find! The nice exercise room was a plus! We loved having a restaurant b/c there were no other choices nearby. We would definitely go again. Price was right and the beds were awesome! We didn’t want to get out of bed in the am. "
