“The area was beautiful and quiet and full of nature. The accomodation (& beds) was modern, warm, comfortable & had everything we needed. Communication was friendly & useful for how to get there & local dining options (which was also brilliant, friendly and delicious.) They had kindly started the fireplace before we arrived. I’d stay here again happily. ”

“We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at the Empire. The bar girl and our waitress in the dining room were so helpful and friendly. Our room was very comfy although one side of the electric blanket didn’t work. The creaky floor added character to the building. The entrance with its beautiful staircase and furniture was so beautiful . Thoroughly enjoyed our meal in the dining room and our breakfast the next morning. Would recommend this hotel to our friends.😊. ”

“We read the reviews and were intrigued. We stayed in winter, and it is cold in Bothwell. It would have been much more inviting if the hosts had the heater running prior to our arrival, but once the property warmed up after a few minutes the shock of how cold it was faded away. We stayed in the 1837 cottage. The accommodation is rustic, eclectically furnished and decorated, and gives an appreciation of life in times gone by. If you are after elegant, refined and well finished accommodation...
