โThe property was war, inviting and so beautiful with its flowers and exquisite care for the buildings and gardens. It was a spotless comfortable room, gracious host at breakfast and friendly and attentive front desk. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to be in the center of the adorable downtown of Carmel.โ
โLa Playa's location is great--close to the beach and can walk to Carmel's shopping area. The hotel's garden/outdoor area is gorgeous and the breakfast is fantastic!โ
โGreat stay at Wayside Inn, Carmel-by-the-sea. Friendly and kind staff at the front desk, nice and cozy room with a moody fireplace. Smart TV. 10 minutes to Monterey and 15 minutes to wineries in Carmel valley.
- Attitude of a staff delivering breakfast. While he pushed down a coffee-filled cup on the way of putting the breakfast tray on the table (by mistake), he did not say a word of apology.โ
โThe property is absolutely beautiful and peacefulโsurrounded by nature, that made me feel truly alive. Everything about the environment was breathtaking and relaxing.
However, I did feel that some of the staff in the cafeteria were not as friendly or welcoming toward us compared to how they treated other guests. It was disappointing and made us feel a bit uncomfortable. I canโt help but wonder if it had to do with us being Hispanic. I hope this is something they reflect on, as hospitality...
"Overall I really liked staying here.
I read reviews about how the walls are paper thin and its really loud and I was worried. The walls were really thin and I could literally hear everything from neighbors, but it was not a big problem for me cause they all became quite after 10pm. I had my earplugs for sleep. I guess it really helped. Welcome cookies, wine, and the breakfasts were good. I'd stay here again if I visit carmel by the sea. Its a lovely town and everywhere is ultra pet friendly."
