Coral Pointe Sarasota, an Ascend Collection Hotel

"First time staying here. The front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful. The lobby was very nice and clean. The room was a little dated and could use a little extra cleaning. Beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was good. They do mix up what they serve daily and have a pancake machine that makes you 2 pancakes. Pool was nice but had lots of leaves in it and water was very chilly. The fire alarm did go off around 10 pm and everyone had to evacuate the building for the fire department to come. Turned out everything was ok, thankfully, but had to climb up stairs to get back to room floor since elevators weren’t working due to the alarm. We also had police knock at our door at midnight looking for someone which was a little scary! The hotel is right off the highway and not in a bad area nor did it seem sketchy inside so must have been an isolated incident. Still, that was a lot to take for one night! I doubt we’ll go back."

"Thi was a rest and relaxation trip for me and I stayed at this hotel and it was just what I needed. It was convenient to a store and I didn’t have to go out for breakfast because it was provided with much to choose from. The location was close to the highway and close to the beach. I was able to visit the beach and also get back on the highway very easily. Great place to stay. I would recommend."
