"The room was small but clean and had very poor amenities. Over $700 for (2) nights was outrageous and comparable with a motel six at the best. There wasn't a front desk for information. Everything you needed you had to request on-line. I was in a hurry threw some clothes out of the washer thinking I could iron once in the hotel . No iron or ironing board inside the room. The tv was like a puzzle and had to buy shows to watch. No iron or ironing board. No closet for your clothes and cabinet space to hold your personal belongings like toothpaste, deodorant and etc. False advertisement like its a luxury hotel and just a remodeled Motel. I had hell trying to get receipt on what I paid so I could split with my roommate. I was so embarrassed because I told my date that it was a really nice place to stay and it was like a remodeled Motel Six at best. It was clean was the only positive thing I could say. Cheap on soap and not enough towels. Over $700 for one king size room for 2 nights was outrageously expensive. I was so disappointed. When I see the price and pictures, I thought it would be a luxury hotel. No pool and you couldn't access the vending machines for ice or laundry because the door code was screwed up. I called but no one ever came to fix it. I will never stay at such an overrated place like this again. Price gouging at the finest. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone especially carrying a date. I was so embarrassed. "

"Room was clean but so old with paint chipping and a moist mildew smell. Bed was concave and we both slept in the middle (not by choice). Would I stay again? Maybe…it is a beautiful old historic hotel in a great location, but they still need to update so you don’t feel like you are staying in an old dingy roadside motel. "

"First, they never mentioned that housekeeping was on provided if you stay at least three days. Then added if we need additional towels we can ask. Then their continental breakfast, consisted of coffee, tea, 4 juices, instant oatmeal, fruit loops and maybe corn flakes, white bread only, bagels plain and sesame, donuts and tiny muffins, hard boiled eggs peeled, but cold, small cup yogurt and waffles you make. Edible, but not what I expected. The first impression of the room was it smelled funky, the ac at night was loud, the internet was lousy and more times unavailable, the front desk gave me some number to call if it didn’t work, instead of addressing the issue themselves. The room was for 4 individuals and only had 2 towels—go figure! The beds were firm and the pillows were so-so. The microwave timer was broken and at like 88 minutes and would not stop or reset. The bathroom door needs adjusting and not appealing. Overall the room was old and it will not be on my list if we go there next year. Has I known this before and the pictures were more accurate, I gladly would have gone somewhere else. The staff was nice, but it seems they can’t find cleaning individuals, hence the only of you there 3 day (when they would change linen, take the trash out, provide clean towels without having to ask and to clean the room) or when you check out. So I suggest thinking about where you really want to stay. Noting the reviews were not a good way as I discovered to really judge the place."

"Where shall I begin? I normally do not make reviews, however our experience prompted one. There were 3 elevators, 2 of which did not work, and the Derby and other events were going on in town. One time, we tried to take the stairs to the ground floor to avoid the wait, only to find out it was a fire exit only. They have the soap dispensers on the wall (no bars of soap), which were empty in the shower. This should have been an item checked by the cleaning crew. The shower's water pressure was not the best, and the shower could have used a cleaning. No vent in bathroom. The hotel did not have a fitness center. Breakfast cost $15 (we did not try it). Parking options by yourself were down the street or went through a third-party to pay in another lot. We chose valet, $20 a day. The valets were probably the highlight of the stay, as they were always courteous and timely. Bring cash to tip these gentlemen (as you should), because you can't add it to your bill. During checkout, we were told we could not get a receipt because it went through a third-party, which I have never experienced before in traveling for 20-plus years. This seemed a bit sketchy. The hotel is within walking distance of bathhouse row and other attractions, so there is that. We had a room on a corner or edge, so other rooms may differ in layout. In ours, you could hear the elevator all night. Do your research on other hotels close by before selecting one. "

"Very convenient across from Racetrack and Next door to Rocky's Pizza place. Staff is very nice and rooms were clean. The only issue we had was that someone had a motorcycle next to us with was very loud and they were outside of our window idling the engine for quite a while."
