"This is a gorgeous historic property nearly 100 years old. With this in mind, my remarks are personal issues, not necessarily those of all travelers. I am extremely allergic to mold and mildew and just imagine a 100 year old building. While not visible, there is that “ old” smell that never leaves. This is particularly in the hallways and public spaces, NOT IN THE ROOMS. The property is beautiful, refreshing and restful. The back courtyard particularly was inviting. The room was clean. This is a personal issue and one every property seems to have adopted and that is using a duvet on the bed. They are way too hot for me and when stripped away, there is little choice of cover. Whatever we had before these things became popular was better for me. I just strip it off, but not convenient. Small rooms and small bathrooms are a challenge for elderly (83) visitors. One chair is challenging as someone always has to sit on the bed. Loved the refrigerator and Keurig. The small bathroom with basically no vanity space is a challenge. We did ok for overnight, but extended stay would stretch our limits of comfort. The continental breakfast was modest. One cereal choice plus oatmeal. Pastries, coffee bagels. Loved the greater neighborhood as we walked around to see the beautiful historic houses."
