Everything about this property was fantastic. The Chateau was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. Elderberry House and The Celler were both excellent. Most of all, the staffs were wonderful and provided with excellent services.

Best kept secret! I wouldn’t have known about this place if I hadn’t drove by into Yosemite. I decided to extend my stay and stayed here. It was as if I had been transported to the south of France. Breakfast was superb. The restaurant has a world class tasting menu. The service was impeccable. The best massage at the spa after a week of hiking. My stay was better than the Ritz Carlton.

Magical Experience

Magical experience. My friend and I stayed for my birthday and we could not have had better service or accomodations. The staff were attentive, the setting beautiful, the room, and the chateau itself were wonderfully and perfectly appointed. We felt as though we were in a fairy tale! Dining at the restaurant is a must, and I highly recommend the wine pairing. Also, breakfast was excellently prepared. We walked the grounds and enjoyed all of the little decor surprises along the paths.

My room was right out of a French Chateau with high windown that looked out to the mountains. The staff were very attentive and easy to reach if I needed anything (like coffee at 5:30 a.m. when I took my dog out to do his business). And . . . one of the best resturants in California, Elderberry House, is just a leasurly stroll away and I had a wonderful dinner with wine tasting, because I did not have to drive.

I believe in 20 years this is the first time I bothered to submit a review. This destination is a hidden gem, far worth the investment to stay. It is like a trip to the past and you feel as if you are not in the US but in France or similar European countries. What ended up as one night to try will end up us purposely planning a trip in this area just to stay here for an extended weekend. Highly recommend it, romantic, quiet, and breath taking.

Where to begin? I have been enjoying the restaurant associated with this hotel for many years now on my visits to the area which is a treasure near Yosemite. The town of Oakhurst is my favorite as it offers great amenities that are the closest to the best entrance to Yosemite in my opinion. Lets start with the food. This is one of the best culinary experiences I have had and it is consistently good. The three course or five course dining service is stellar. These chefs are some of the best in the world and Ive been all over the world. The leadership of Erica is not to be surpassed. She has an incredible calm spirit with a smiling happy crew that provides top notch service with warmth and class. The bartender Jordan is a delight with his great smile and kind eyes. The food experience made me feel like I was being nourished from the inside out not just with nutrition but with love and flavor that was new and revitalizing. This was my first stay at the Chateau Sureau. Oh my heart. I feel that I was healed and restored from a level of stress I dont think I realized I was carrying from our busy crazy noisy world at home. The property is exquisite with old world charm and the perfect patina of age that makes you feel you are in the old country of Paris or Austria or England. The landscape is stunning and it was raining so the fireplaces were roaring and the pines were glistening with silver drops backlit by an incredible sunset.

The service is absolutely fantastic. 10 stars service, every staff members are so helpful and polite. You can even drinks 24/7, a hot tea beside the fire in your room during winter is not the warmest thing, but the staff team is.
