1min walk from Oita JR station, where there was shopping, many dining options and a supermarket. The in-house onsen was excellent. The laundry facilities were surprisingly free of charge, but there’s a charge for dryers. Buffet breakfast was amazing serving many traditional Japanese items that we were glad to try. It’s a very convenient base to visit the surrounding towns of Beppu and Yufuin.

This hotel was right next to the train station and the main shopping/restaurant areas were a five-minute walk. So, in terms of convenience, it was spot on. The onson/hot springs included were, for me (as a non-Japanese tourist), superb. Free ramen was included in the evenings although I didn't get to try the breakfast. Considering there was construction going on during my stay the room was remarkably quiet. I thoroughly recommend Dormy Inn Oita and would stay there again if I ever return.

Very convenient hotel, nice onsen, small rooms

Unfortunately we were given a very small room at one corner of floor 7: when I asked for a bigger room, the young receptionist aked his older colleague who, without turning towards me, let him write ob the mobile translator, 'this is the larger room in the hotel',however photos in hotels. Com show a much larger room. The hotel is very central and convenient for trips by train/bus. The onsen at floor 12 is very nice. The free ramen after dinner time, super kind offer. Breakfast very good
