"The rooms, baths, and entire hotel was very clean. The buffet breakfast had numerous choices and empty trays were quickly refilled by attentive staff. The bathroom designs were lovely and modern. Ours had a privacy wall of plants. The rooms were a nice size and beds were very comfortable. Towels were provided regularly."

"This was an amazing hotel. The location was very tranquil, and it was close to the temples and Philosophers Path. The room was very stylish, with a view over the peaceful hotel garden and the neighbouring temple. It is one of the most memorable hotel stays I have had. The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was of a very good standard."

"Toyoko Hotels are usually great. They are clean, convenient, and affordable, and they tend to have lots of useful amenities or people who might have forgotten to bring something like a toothbrush or razor. This particular hotel has a really convenient location that's a short walk from several train stations and from a couple of very charming and pleasant shopping arcades. Miidera (三井寺) and Lake Biwa (琵琶湖) are also manageable walks. Otsu is a lovely and underrated city, and this hotel is in a really nice part of the city."
