"Toyoko Hotels are usually great. They are clean, convenient, and affordable, and they tend to have lots of useful amenities or people who might have forgotten to bring something like a toothbrush or razor. This particular hotel has a really convenient location that's a short walk from several train stations and from a couple of very charming and pleasant shopping arcades. Miidera (三井寺) and Lake Biwa (琵琶湖) are also manageable walks. Otsu is a lovely and underrated city, and this hotel is in a...

The breakfast was excellent - a perfect balance of fresh vegetables, baked bread and fruit and yogurt. And the staff were so helpful with local restaurant recommendations. Would definately recommend"

Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu Kyoto

10/10 Excellent

"The staff was really friendly and they were able to not only accept my luggage, but it was already in my room before arrival. The staff was very helpful whenever we had questions, and the available amenities like forgotten toothbrushes, razors, and combs was great. Based on my booking, I was provided with some spending cash that we used at the rooftop bar. There are food options on site that made life a bit easier if we didn't want to go out or go far. The location was convenient to buses, and the train."

The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Sanjo

SOLARIA Nishitetsu Hotel Kyoto Premier

10/10 Excellent

"This hotel was awesome! Friendly and helpful staff. The onsen was a nice experience. The room was large for a Japan hotel. The only room for improvement feedback I have is to have them have more washer and dryer machines. I had to wait 50 minutes just to get a washer. The dryer setting on the first cycle doesn’t dry clothes so two other people in front of me had to do another dry cycle. I also had to do an extra dry cycle. It was a little ridiculous having to wait so long to do some laundry. I think there could be a better system or more machines for guests. The location was perfect! Right next to a train and subway station which made it super easy to get around to all of our destinations. There is also tons of shopping and wonderful restaurants in walking distance. Overall, this was our favorite place that we stayed at on our trip. It was very nice!!"

Hotel Gracery Kyoto Sanjo

10/10 Excellent

"Kabuki room decor is awesome! Location is very convenient. The facial amenities already provided in room were very much appreciated. Although laundry machines are available, I would discourage use of dryer due to its limited (1/2 load) capacity. Overall, our stay was excellent!"

Onyado Nono Kyotoshichijo Natural Hot Springs

10/10 Excellent

"Amazing amenities of hot spring and ramen bar late night options. Its trendy japanese tatami style room which make it fun to experience."

Biwako Hotel

8/10 Good

"room fine bathroom a bit dated as is the rest of the hotel. overall good location right on lake all rooms have view of lake pool is free for resident but very over clorinated which gave us all bad rashes. so only used once which was a sham as reason we stayed there. station close and hotel has shuttle bus to station 3 times an hour which was good over all hotel ok probably not to my taste but very popular with locals we were only english there and a good place to stay away from hustle and bustle of kyoto but easy access as only two stops on train. stayed there 20 years ago and it hadn’t changed since then"

Smile Hotel Otsu Seta
