We had a deeply disappointing experience at the Hilton Garden Inn – Phoenix/Tempe ASU Area. Our room door wouldn’t lock unless slammed extremely hard, causing dust to fall from the door frame — a major safety and structural concern. The bathroom had no hand soap, and when we called the front desk, they simply said they were out. We never received any during our stay.
The room itself was in poor condition: the bracket holding the iron was coming off the wall and could easily cause injury. The wall-mounted AC unit was partially detached and loosened further every time the temperature was adjusted. One family member had to switch rooms because their AC was completely broken. We also found a live bug near the chair in the corner of the room.
Late one night, we went to the lobby for assistance, but no staff could be found — no one answered, no signage, no bell. For a Hilton-branded hotel, this property fell far short in safety, cleanliness, and service. No follow-up, no apology, no attempt to make things right. We won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend this location until serious improvements are made.
