"Stayed here before as a kid, can't believe how old and unmaintained the property is. Staff is not helpful, literally had to bug them for 15 minutes to help us get a taxi there is no customer service at all at this hotel."

"Clean and functional room, although not luxurious. A terrific view from upper unit. Minimal amenities (no restaurant on site but a new one is in the plans for summer 2026). The property evokes “Old Hawaii” nostalgia and vibes. It’s the only hotel on the island."

"We came to Maui on business this time, and I will say that if you have to work, I can think of no office with a better view; although if you require WiFi, I learned that the ocean view rooms do not have a strong internet connection for large uploads. I was thankful to be able to take my laptop to the hospitality room and do everything I needed to do. If you are looking for a property that offers onsite activities like waterslides, luaus, shopping and crowds- this is not it. But, we have been staying at The Mauian on Napili Bay for vacation for years. We went there on our honeymoon, came back to renew our vows on that beach with out adult children for our 30th anniversary- 5 years ago. The Mauian is a great place to unplug and enjoy peace. It's the picturesque scenery of the beach with the sound of the calm waves to fall asleep to, that keep us coming back. We choose the incredible sunset views, rather than having a TV in the room, and great snorkeling on the reef instead of the crowded activities offered by other resorts. You are still close enough to drive to all those activities without being in the middle of them. Every time we leave The Mauian, we begin planning to come back. It always feels like coming back home."
