“No air conditioning but there was a dyson fan and a heater. Room had a coffee machine, mini fridge, hairdryer and a handheld steamer. We stayed in a room overlooking the harbour and it was very quiet. You couldn't hear any noise from the pub next door. Room was modern and very clean. The bed was huge (king) and very comfortable. There were places nearby to get breakfast and is very close to a Sainsbury and M&S food (Apr26).”

“Unfortunately the room requested was not available as we had our small dog with us so were allocated a dog friendly room which was fine but it only had a 4’6 bed which really is not expected these days. Following the downgrading of the room by the hotel and being advised that the room requested would be cheaper. The new price unfortunately was not honoured despite numerous requests for a refund so overall not the best experience.”

“Plus points , within walking distance of the ferry lots of shops, bars, restaurants et cetera. Food in the bar a bit hit and miss but some stuff very nice. Quite fairly priced, clean good quality towels, even though I would say any at level cleanliness is a must and a basic., missing at this property. Negative points, very tired and dirty decor, lots of narrow steep flights of stairs, no wardrobe, no offer of help to carry bags up the flights of stairs when shown to you're room ,even though it...

“Lovely apartment, with fully equipped kitchen and large, bright and stylish TV lounge. Literally a couple of minutes walk from the West Cowes ferry terminal, with a great choice of bars and restaurants on the doorstep.The apartment is at the rear of the property, so no street noise. If you intend to discover the island using public transport, the bus terminal is only a 5 minute walk away, situated next to the M&S food hall. Super friendly and helpful owner and manager. Hope to stay again.”

“Room was much bigger than expected (possibly an upgrade) and seemed to have been recently renovated. Spotlessly clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was included although my invoice stated room only. Apparently all rooms here include breakfast which was very good. Highlight really was the friendliness of staff which is probably because it’s an independent property and they genuinely want to make guests feel welcome. ”

“Booked this hotel as last minute, I come to the island often to visit my dad so this was first time staying somewhere different. Set up more like a b&b than an actual hotel though. John the owner was lovely showed us to our room, and even made sure I knew the code to get back in through the main door. He made us breakfast each morning we were there too which was nice. Only thing id say, is that there was no tea bags or coffee / cups to go with the kettle in the room so had no use being there....

“Truly tremendous venue by the Beaulieu River, surrounded by many interesting historic places to visit and the wonders of the New Forest. Excellent accommodation, lovely meals, good bar and plenty of caring for our dog too.”

“Staff helpful and pleasant except for one staff member at breakfast who was actually rude and unhelpful, which was a shame as she let the hotel down. However, overall, nice place and welcoming.”

“The staff were really lovely, easy check in and easy check out. But, the bathroom had toothpaste marks all over the sink, glass shelf and mirror. The temperature of the shower was either really hot or really cold, you couldn’t change it manually. The hair dryer in the room didn’t work at all. The big bathroom light didn’t work, only a small one above the mirror when you used the shower you could hardly see what you were doing.”

“Fantastic hotel with wonderful gardens. Great location for visiting the local attractions. Staff were welcoming, friendly and polite. Food in both Monty's Bar and the Terrace Restaurant was outstanding. Highly recommended - looking forward to visiting again.”
