“We recently stayed at The Ocean View Hotel from 13th–15th February and unfortunately were very disappointed with our experience. We chose this hotel specifically because of the facilities advertised on the website, including a swimming pool, bar, coffee shop, evening dining, jazz club with cocktail bar, and the daily “Happy Hour” promotion. These amenities were a major factor in booking what we hoped would be a relaxing weekend break. However, on arrival—and throughout our stay—we discovered...

“Small arcade, lake, clubhouse, indoor and outdoor pools, and playground on site. Check on their website for details about when certain facilities open - we’ve been a number of times and there’s a much wider variety in the Summer. But still enjoyable throughout the year. ”

“Got transfwred to spitbank fort for no extra cost , it small with not much to do but a great pla e recommend one night stay rather than our two night as spitbabk is much smaller”

“Breakfast was very good with lots of choice . Room was fine but TV quite big for the size of the room. Shower very small. Lovely decor and bar staff and waitress very helpful. Nice being able to use the sauna. Pool and hot tub not yet in use ”

“Logistically superb - lots of walks, beach, at low tide you can go rock pooling etc. Bus stop right outside - which when the weather isn't great is a useful option to get around. There are small bus routes that loop certain areas - and you get a running commentary so worth jumping on. Hotel is fabulous - views are amazing, food is delicious, and good value, room were exceptional (you must like the sound of the sea) and the staff are kind, informative and go above and beyond. ”

“Wonderful stay, everything was great, especially the hot tub, which we really enjoyed. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed. We stayed 3 nights and had an amazing experience overall. Vanessa at the reception was very nice and helpful and guided us well. The only small point was the pool hours until 5 PM, which we wish it had been open longer.”

“I had a good welcome. Room was lovely and clean. The complementary drinks voucher is a very nice touch. Fire in bar most welcoming. Breakfast delicious. Would definitely stay again.”

“We had a beach view room which was spacious and had an absolutely stunning view over the beach and cliffs over a distance. We came to the island for my son’s fossil hunting. He’s 9. We listened to the high tides at night, absolutely worth it. Even with the window open, it’s still warm during the day in the winter. Will revisit. ”

“아침식사는 훌륭했어요.부페가 아닌 따뜻한 음식을 직접 조리해서 주니 정말 좋았어요. 그리고 더블룸 small size로 예약했는데 standard room으로 free upgrade 해주셔서 정말 감사했어요. 그리고 호텔시설들은 깔끔하고 쾌적했고 수영장이 정말 좋았어요 수영장내에 작은spa도 있어서 추울땐 거기들어가 있으니 정말 좋았어요.수영장물도 깨끗하고 온도도 적당해서 아이들 쾌적하게 수영할수있겠더라구요. 저는 정말 좋았어요”

“Unfortunately the room requested was not available as we had our small dog with us so were allocated a dog friendly room which was fine but it only had a 4’6 bed which really is not expected these days. Following the downgrading of the room by the hotel and being advised that the room requested would be cheaper. The new price unfortunately was not honoured despite numerous requests for a refund so overall not the best experience.”

“The hotel was lovely, and Linda & Des were VERY welcoming and accommodating. They have a little “shop” where you can buy toiletries, wine, drinks, crisps, snacks etc which was very convenient. The breakfasts were AMAAAAZING - lots of options! The only down side was the water was not hot and the water pressure in the shower was low.”

“Reported toilet not flushing before we went out for dinner, staff said they would fix it while we were out, come back not fixed had to phone again they tried again unsuccessfully and only then offered different room this was 9 o'clock in the evening. Think this could have been handled net”

“On arrival our room was upgraded to a large seaview room with a walk in shower which was a very nice welcome. The Pump room bar is excellent with a cozy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food both at breakfast and in the evening venues is top notch. Dining is a particular highlight which should not be missed with a very good menu expertly prepared and served to a really high standard. ”
