"The staff were great. The food was a bit of a disappointment. They serve the same thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner with only slight variations. It’s quite a big hotel so lots of walking was required. They have a transit system that runs infrequently and the pools close at 6:00pm….way too early in my opinion. Their entertainment was decent, not the worse nor the best that I’ve seen. The grounds were well kept. The beach is quite far from the hotel lobby which means you have to use the hotel provided transportation, which can be annoying, especially having to wait for a specific tram that goes to the beach to show up at the stop closest to your room. On one occasion it took 25 minutes for the tram to come. The beach was also narrow and to no fault of their own, there was a ton of sea weed. I was also disappointed that there were no beach activities to do. Quite surprised actually. The only options were to book excursions through the staff at the resort. I’ve been to 5 of 6 resorts in different parts of the world, 4 of them being the Grand Bahia Principe and I unfortunately won’t be returning to this one. Overall the property and experience does not meet my standards. Still a decent place to take your family, just not for me any further."
